WHEN THEY CALL ON ME, I WILL ANSWER? PSALM 91:15 |
|
| Most normal parents enjoy being generous to their children. Jesus used this as a framework for understanding God, ?If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!? (Matthew 7:11 KJV) So why do many of us have a hard time accepting the gifts our Heavenly Father gives us. One lady said, ?I distinctly remember feeling God must have had His wires crossed. Why would He do that for me? In fact I felt guilty, as if I?d somehow acquired something God didn?t really want me to have.? Sound familiar? Think how bizarre the following words would be if they came from a parent: ?I?m too busy taking care of everyone else, I don?t want to hear about the broken gears on your bike.? ?What do you mean, you want feeding?? ?If you love me you?ll survive on tap water.? ?Sure, I?m rich, but why should I give you anything ? back off!? Good parents don?t talk like that because they don?t feel that way about their children; they want only the best for them. So take a good parent?s feeling for his or her child, multiply it by a million, and you?ll have a slight idea of how your Heavenly Father feels about you. Nothing in the world would keep Him from giving His full attention to you. So come to Him today in prayer!
