Let your requests be made known unto God.Philippians 4:6
Have you talked to God yet about the specific things that are troubling you? Only when you’ve made specific requests, can you identify specific answers and praise God for them when they come. Listen, “… whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24 NIV).
Sometimes we pray in generalities to keep from being disappointed, or to “rationalise” our lack of results. Ever do that?
Your concept of God will always determine how you approach Him. How do you see Him? As caring or condemning? Isolated or involved? Willing or reluctant? Here are a few helpful hints to make your prayers more effective:
(a) Remove any hindrance. Listen, “… if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask” (1 John 3:21-22 NIV). (b) Stand on His Word. Listen, “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). (c) Refuse to speak doubt. Listen, “… he that cometh to God must believe that He is… a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Don’t pray, ” God, I know You can,” then walk away and think, “But I’m afraid you won’t.” Make faith your fixed position! Leave the timing, the ways, and the means to God – but never doubt Him! Now get into His presence, and “Let your requests be made known.”
