You’ll learn more in an hour with God, than you’ll learn in a lifetime with anybody else. The enemy knows what your God-given potential is, and he’s out to stop you before you reach it. Prayer puts a shield of divine protection around you! Don’t live without it!
There are hands holding this book that may not be here next year unless somebody prays for you. There are people reading this page who thought that they, of all people, would never cheat on their taxes or their partner, but they did. Unless you acknowledge the propensity toward sin that’s within you, you won’t pray against it; therefore you’ll always be vulnerable to the enemy’s attack.
Jesus said, “Stay alert; be in prayer so you don’t wander into temptation without even knowing you’re in danger. There is a part of you that is eager, ready for anything in God. But there’s another part that’s as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire” (Matthew 26:41 TM). Could language be clearer?
The most lethal weapon the enemy has against you is – you! That’s right! Your old sin nature must be taken to the cross and crucified, daily! The place of prayer is where you do that! In God’s presence you see yourself as He sees you. There, at the point of repentance, He reveals, He removes and He restores. When your prayer life goes, so does your protection. So get busy and do something about it!
