“Lord, I have lived this day to bury one I love. My gratitude is as full as my grief, and my peace as deep as my pain – all because of You. I need You now as never before; shepherd my soul through these dark and painful days.
“You send us to this earth for a season, and then You receive us again unto Yourself. I understand the cycle, but I wasn’t quite as ready to let go as I thought I’d be. All my life I’ve known that some day this would happen, but the finality of it is crushing.
“One thing I know, death cannot kill love, and hands cannot bury it. So on this, my loved one’s coronation day, I give You praise for a life well-lived.”
If you are grieving today listen to these words of hope, “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord… comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
