When multimillionaire financier, J.P. Morgan, died, he left a will that contained 10,000 words and 37 articles. During his lifetime this man made countless financial decisions that affected the economy of the entire world. Yet, in his will, he wrote about the one transaction he considered more important than all others:
“I commit my soul to the hands of my Saviour, in full confidence that, having redeemed me and washed me with His most precious blood, He will present me faultless before the throne of my heavenly Father.
I entreat my children to maintain and defend, at all hazard, and at any personal sacrifice, the blessed doctrine of complete atonement for sins through the blood of Jesus Christ, and through that alone.”
J.P. Morgan knew that money will buy you anything except peace with God, and take you anywhere except to heaven.
Have you also come to the place in your life where you know for sure that if you were to die today you’d go to heaven? If you can say “yes,” then rejoice. But if you are saying “no,” or “I’m not sure,” then stop right now, look up, and pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I invite You into my life. I believe You died for me and that Your blood pays for my sins and provides me with the gift of eternal life. By faith I now receive that gift, and I acknowledge You as my Lord and Saviour. Amen.”
