Lessons In The Storm | Pray for India | Bless India

Jesus made His disciples get into the boat.Mark 6:45 NIV

Are you in a storm today? If so, here are three scriptures you need to read.

(1) “He departed into a mountain to pray and … the ship was in the midst of the sea.” (Mark 6:46-47) Do you feel like God’s off on a mountaintop somewhere, and you’re alone in the storm? No, the teacher has just temporarily stepped out of the classroom and left you alone with the tools He’s given you. How you react now, reveals how much you’ve learned. Some people think if you’ve enough faith you can stop the storm, or escape it. But if you don’t go through it, how will you know you have faith?

(2) “About the fourth watch of the night (3:00 am), He cometh unto them.” (Mark 6:48) There are things you’ll learn about God at 3 o’clock in the morning that you won’t get from a church service, or a book, or a tape. Every storm introduces you to a new aspect of His character and a new level of His power. When they came through it, the disciples were “amazed,” and you will be too!

(3) “He spoke to them and said, ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid… ‘ and the wind died down” (Mark 6:50,51 NIV). The presence of anyone supportive helps in a storm, but when it’s God who comes to you, you’ve nothing to fear! Regardless of the deteriorating circumstances, the tumour, the betrayal, the interest on the credit card or anything else, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Take courage – He’ll bring you safely through!
