There are times when faith seems to make no sense at all. How can the seas be parted, or one man defeat an army, or the world be created by a word? Intellectuals think we’re ‘simple minded’ for believing such things. Yet, they base their entire future on the stock market, or sell their home and move their family halfway across the country! What’s the difference? Their faith is in man – ours is in God. Who’s wiser?
Jesus said, “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). That takes our faith from the unreliable and places it in a God who is faithful, dependable and sure. We can’t see tomorrow, but we trust the One who does. We can’t trust ourselves, so we depend on His wisdom to know what’s best for us. Sounds smart to me!
Even some Christians, when you get down to the fine print, are doubters. When you tell them God’s blessed you in a certain way, they say, “Yeah, what did you do?” Because they haven’t developed their faith, they go around like Delilah, trying to find out the secret of yours. The simple answer is, when you walk with God, He blesses you. He does it because He promised to, because He can and because it pleases Him. So, put your trust in Him today!
