In his book, There Are No Limits, Danny Cox writes the following words (do yourself a favour, put them somewhere you can read them frequently – they’re life changing!) “The future is nothing more than an approaching series of ‘nows’. During one of them, I must make a decision that all future ‘nows’ will be different. A brighter future grows out of a more enlightened and disciplined ‘now’. Therefore, my future improves only as I make better use of the current moment.”
“The time remaining is what counts. And just as important, is my understanding of that. My willingness to accept responsibility for improving my ‘nows’ will determine the quality of the rest of my life.”
“The speed at which the present becomes the past is staggering. Yet, if I commit my God-given strengths to improving each of these approaching ‘nows’, the future will be exhilarating.
I realise that the velocity that carries the present ‘now’ into the past, also carries me toward the future, when increasingly, all my goals, or the lack of them, will become a reality.
A year yet to be, is unborn, untarnished and full of promise. One of those brand-new years – bright with potential, accomplishment, and joy – has just been delivered to me. My choice is simple: accept it as given, and maximise it. Or through habit, mould it into the shape of years past. The choice is mine; the challenge is accepted.”
