You can pray for anything, and if you believe… it’s yours! Mark 11:24
Every failure is, in essence, a prayer failure! Think about that. If you don’t pray, the best thing that can happen – is nothing. You see, prayer puts the situation into God’s hands, otherwise whose hands is it in?
But it’s useless to pray if you: (a) have no faith that God will answer, (b) have no confidence because you feel unworthy, or (c) think that prayer is about… the right words… the right feeling… the right posture… or the right length of time.
Sometimes we say, “I’ll remember that in my prayer time.” But the truth is, you can pray anytime, anywhere, about anything(Ephesians 6:18)! Your prayers can be verbal or silent, long or short, public or private. The verse, “Pray without ceasing,” just means – be in conscious contact with God at all times.
You may say, “But I don’t feel like my prayers are good enough to get an answer.” Then there are two things you need to know:
Firstly, the Spirit helps you in prayer. Listen, “He does our praying in and for us… and keeps us present before God” (Romans 8:26-27 TM).
And secondly, Jesus stands continually before the Father on your behalf. Listen again, “He lives forever to plead with God on [our] behalf” (Hebrews 7:25 NLT).
Now, if 2 out of the 3 persons in the Godhead are working for you, surely even the most imperfect prayer will be perfected by the time it arrives at the Throne of God! Knowing that should take the pressure off and help you develop confidence in simple, believing prayer!
