| Jesus points out 3 things we?re not built to handle: the kingdom, the power, and the glory. The disciples had no difficulty understand this. Out on Lake Galilee they?d just watched Him calm the worst storm they?d ever been through. In a moment the sea went from a churning torrent to a peaceful pond. Immediate calm! Not even a ripple. And what was their reaction? Listen: ?They were in absolute awe, staggered. ?Who is this anyway?? they asked? (Mk 4:39-40 TM). They?d never met anyone like Him. When he wanted some sleep even the wind and waves had to be quiet ? respect! Jesus?? 12 disciples at best have been permanently God-smacked! They saw fish jumping into the boat, demons disappearing into pigs, cripples turn into dancers, and corpses become living, breathing people. Never had they experienced such power, never had they seen such glory. Face it, we aren?t naturally inclined to run a kingdom ? we have a hard enough time keeping our own bedroom in order. And we certainly can?t handle the glory. Oh, some of us think we can and then we go and isolate ourselves totally by getting so big-headed nobody wants to know us. So Jesus ends this great prayer with a message we must never forget: Yours Lord, not mine, is the kingdom. ?Yours Lord, not mine, is the power. Yours Lord, not mine is the glory.?
