There’s Still A Place For You At Father’s Table | Pray for India | Bless India

Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him,’ and to our God, and He will abundantly pardon,Isaiah 55:7

The worst thing to do when you fall is to lie there. I know what it’s like to fail miserably. Because I was a preacher, I felt even more condemned. The devil whispered in my ear, “You are just a hypocrite. After all you’ve preached to others, how could you have done this?” You see, discouragement and condemnation are the devil’s favourite weapons.

Read the Word again. The prodigal son broke his father’s laws and his father’s heart. But the father never stopped loving him. Every day the father prayed and waited for his son to come back home. It finally happened. One day, in rags and in total despair, the prodigal “came to himself” -that means he hit bottom! It has to happen to most of us before we decide to do something about our lives. He cried, “I will arise and go back to my father, and will say, ‘Father, forgive me’”. (Luke 15:18,19 para)

What a story! When he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck, and kissed him. He put a ring on his finger, shoes on his feet, and a robe on him to cover his nakedness. Then the father announced, “Bring hither the fatted calf.” (see Luke 15:11-23)

Do you know how long it takes to fatten a calf? It takes months! The truth is the father had been waiting for his son to come back for a long time.

Today I don’t care how badly you’ve failed. All you have to do is turn around, come back home and say, “Father, forgive me.” He’ll meet you more than halfway and when you get home you’ll find you still have a seat at Father’s table.
