This woman faced two challenges. (1) Self-doubt: can a person like me touch a God like Him? The answer is yes! (2) Getting through the crowd! The enemy will do everything he can to keep you from getting to Jesus. You’ll have to press through the flesh realm, to get to the spiritual realm. You’ll have to say to those who doubt what you’re doing, “Excuse me, I’ve got to get to Jesus!” To those who want you to stop and stroke their ego, “Sorry, I don’t have time, I have to get to Jesus!” To those who offer you their expert but unscriptural opinions, “Please step aside, I’m on my way to Jesus!”
Just take the first step, and God will work with you. When justice says, “You can’t get to Him,” mercy will let you through. When the law tries to stop you, grace will open the door. When the world says, “Don’t go,” God will whisper, “Come. Just press through; I’m waiting for you!” But don’t expect it to be easy. This woman had to press through the doomsayers, the doctor’s report, the pile of unpaid bills, the laws that shut her out and the folks who preached them.
But look what happened! Immediately the life of Jesus poured into every part of her and she was healed. And He’ll do the same for you, if you’ll only press through and touch Him today.
